The Expect a Miracle Home directors Pedro and Valerie Jaramillo were born and raised in Albuquerque, N.M.
AT THE AGE OF FIFTEEN BECAME PARENTS TO THEIR FIRST SON AND SOON AFTER PEDRO BECAME ADDICTED TO CRACK COCAINE, ALCOHOL, AND OTHER STREET DRUGS.
HE WAS ADDICTED FOR NINE YEARS. HIS ADDICTION CAUSED HIM TO STEAL, VANDALIZE, AND LEAVE FOR DAYS ON A “BINGE”. TIRED OF THE LIFE HE WAS LIVING AND THE HURT HE WAS CAUSING HIS FAMILY HE WAS UNABLE TO QUIT. THROUGH THE PAIN AND HURT VALERIE BEGAN USING MARIJUANA AND WHEN THAT “WASN’T ENOUGH” BECAME ADDICTED TO METH.
THEY LIVED AS A YOUNG COUPLE WITH NO DIRECTION, STRUGGLING, ABUSIVE AND BOUND BY SIN. TRYING TO FULFILL EMPTINESS BY WHAT SOCIETY SAYS IS FULFILLING-MARRIAGE, COUNSELING, REHABILITATION CENTERS, FAMILY… THERE WAS STILL EMPTINESS…THERE WAS STILL AN ADDICTION.
AT THEIR LOWEST POINT WITH TWO CHILDREN AND NO HOPE FOUND THEMSELVES WALKING THROUGH THE DOORS OF THE VICTORY HOME IN ARTESIA, N.M. UNDER THE DIRECTION OF PASTOR ALEX HERNANDEZ AND HIS WIFE ALMA. IT WAS THERE THEY MEET JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR LORD AND SAVIOR. THE EMPTINESS WAS FILLED AND THE CHAINS OF ADDICTION WERE BROKEN.
GOD BEGAN TO PUT A BURDEN ON THEIR HEARTS FOR THE “LOST”. THEY MOVED TO SAN ANTONIO, TX FOR EIGHT YEARS OF TRAINING ALONG WITH THEIR CHILDREN. THERE THEY WERE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS LIVES CHANGED THROUGH THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST. THE TRAINING CONSISTED OF TEACHINGS, DISCIPLINE, AND TOOLS TO COME BACK TO NEW MEXICO AND OPEN THEIR HOME, AND THEIR LIVES TO WORK WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED OF HOPE, A DIRECTION, AND A NEW LIFE. UNDERSTANDING THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ANSWER.
